Cannons Creek Independent School’s Grade 4–6 pupils attended their annual Camp at High Africa (situated on the Breede River near Worcester) from 28-30 April 2026. The experienced facilitators presented a well-structured and fun programme that included high and low ropes, wall climbing, water safety, thinking skills activities, and a lively potjie cooking competition.
“It was particularly encouraging to see so many pupils step beyond their comfort zones and fully embrace the opportunities provided. Their enthusiasm, resilience, and willingness to try new challenges were commendable. Despite the cold weather, the firepit provided a warm and welcoming communal space in the early mornings and evenings, where much laughter, dancing and bonding took place. We extend our sincere thanks to the staff members who accompanied the pupils and contributed to making the camp a memorable and enriching experience for all involved,” said Mrs Sue Alston, HOD: Intermediate Phase.
