School coding teams place in Top 3 of competition

An incredible well done to the Cannons Creek Grade 4s who entered the AfriCAN Coding Challenge 2022, with their two teams entered placing in the top three finalists. In the first round they competed against other schools and more than 1000 entries from schools throughout South Africa. The theme was ‘Protecting Life Together’ and each team had to code a two player game on Scratch, as well as design a team logo. They then submitted a video of themselves explaining the coding, how their game worked, and the theme.

Each member won a micro:bit robotics kit. Their submissions are now judged against the top three winners of the other 53 countries in Africa. Final results will be announced in January.
