On Wednesday, our debaters travelled to Springfield Girls’ Convent for the first round of the season. Although the competitive format had to be adjusted due to several team forfeits, the afternoon was productive and rewarding, as our speakers had the rare opportunity to debate directly with the adjudicators.
Our team proposed the motion: “Parents should not allow their children to use phones or tablets at restaurants, malls, and similar family outings.”
Beyond presenting strong and thoughtful arguments, the experience provided an invaluable opportunity for our team to refine their debating skills.
