Congratulations to our iStore Excellence in Education Winners! We are so proud of Grade 4 pupils Katie Roets and Xia Walker who won first place in the Grades 4–7 Curriculum Excellence category, announced last night at the final awards ceremony at the iStore Headquarters in Sandton, Johannesburg.
Their project was one of 225 entries from schools all across South Africa, which were sent to six international judges to review. From there, the top three entries in each age group and category were invited to Johannesburg for the awards ceremony.
Katie and Xia showcased the amazing work they’ve been doing in Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) and Computers. Their enthusiasm and hard work paid off in the best way! Each of them received a certificate and their very own iPad as part of their prize.
This challenge is a national celebration of teachers and pupils who are redefining the learning experience through creative and impactful use of Apple technology. The Tech Excellence Award celebrates future-focused classrooms that use AI tools and coding platforms on Apple devices to develop pupils’ problem-solving abilities, creativity, and computational thinking in cutting-edge ways.
Shoutout to Ms Macmillan, Mrs Gopal and Mrs Alston for their inspiring lessons that made this project possible. Click here to view their submission.
