Grade 5s embark on Red Bus trip

On Wednesday, the Grade 5s went on the Red Bus as part of our IBL (Inquiry Based Learning) theme. The trip felt extraordinary. “It was good, and fun,” said Akiva Davidson.

On the bus, we were each given a pair of earphones and a map. We plugged the earphones into the cable socket on the side of our seat, and the information would play through the earphones. We eventually reached our first stop: Hout Bay. We had a tremendous amount of fun at the beach, by Mariner’s Wharf, building sand towers and splashing feet in the sea. After that, we sadly had to pack up, after we had so much fun. “It was fun and chaotic,” said Skyla van der Westhuizen. We cleaned up and then patiently waited for the next (Red) bus to arrive. Soon, we would reach our next stop: the Winchester Hotel.

At the Winchester Hotel, we walked on The Promenade. From there we walked to the Green Point Lighthouse. We took a few photos at the lighthouse (Fun Fact: the Green Point Lighthouse is exactly 200 years old), before we walked across the road to: Green Point Park.

We had so much at Green Point Park, learning about biodiversity, flora and we loved playing on the park’s equipment. “It was fun, and the equipment was crazy!” said Eli Hyland.

We absolutely loved Green Point Park. But alas, our field trip had to end. We packed up our belongings and walked to the bus stop. Later, we went back onto the school bus and thereafter we would soon arrive back at Cannons Creek after a joyous day.
