On Monday 19 September, all the Grade 4s, 5s and 6s climbed on board two buses and headed off to High Africa on the Breede River for a three-day camp. This was our first camp since the start of the Pandemic and so a new experience for all three grades. It was wonderful to see the pupils getting involved in all the activities, pushing themselves mentally and physically, as they competed in mixed age teams. The Grade 6s demonstrated their growing leadership skills, helping and encouraging the younger pupils. We all enjoyed an abundance of delicious food, with many children exclaiming that it was the best they have had! Bedtime behaviour was fantastic with everyone settling quickly in their dorms and chalets. We are very thankful to the High Africa facilitators for running such a fun and enjoyable camp for our Intermediate Phase. Thanks, too, to the teachers for leaving their families to play “mum” to our pupils.
