On Friday, 9 February, the Grade 10 Life Sciences pupils set off on their inter-tidal, Rocky Shore, Ecology field trip at Dalebrook beach/rocky shoreline in False Bay near Kalk Bay Harbour. The Grade 10s set about their tasks in good spirits, and in ideal weather conditions, at spring low
tide. The class was divided into groups of three that were tasked to do four quadrat samples in
each of four rocky shore ecosystem zones.
