The Enrichment Programme for the first half of 2026 offers a diverse array of activities designed to “feed your soul” and foster personal growth beyond the standard curriculum (for both the pupils and staff).
Pupils are afforded the opportunity to explore creative and performance arts through Poetry Slam, Spotlight on Theatre, and Card-making, or delve into visual media with Classic Film Genre and AI Audiovisuals. For those seeking mental clarity and physical wellness, the programme provides “quiet spaces” such as Mindful Marks, Pilates, and Breathing, Relaxing and Stretching. The Philosophy Club, and Technology: A Discourse, cater for those craving intellectual stimulation; while logic and strategy are tested in Modern Boardgames, The Mystery Club, and UCT Maths Competition Puzzles. Pupils can also gain practical life skills in First Aid Basics, or contribute to the community by knitting squares for charity.
By participating in these activities, it is hoped that the pupils will discover passions, build confidence, and develop critical thinking and collaboration skills. Click here to read more about all the lessons offered.
Some reviews:
- I enjoy PILATES because it focuses on controlled movement and breathing, which leaves me feeling relaxed for my remaining classes.
- It is fun, I really like playing CHESS and it challenges my brain to use strategies.
- It gives us a chance to socialise and relax and just enjoy BOARD GAMES.
- I enjoy watching films, and I don’t know a lot of the older, CLASSICAL FILMS. Sometimes, I don’t understand a joke or reference to them but now that I am watching the movies, I understand them now!
- FIRST AID – I like that it helps me know what to do in case of an emergencies.
- I enjoy MUSIC APPRECIATION because I get to do what I love.
- CARD MAKING – It is relaxing and it allows you to use your creativity. You are also able to do something nice for someone else by making the card for them.
- KNITTING is calming and chill.
- AI & AUDIOVISUALS – Mr Nuves teaches with such enthusiasim and he makes it interesting and makes me enjoy it more since I already enjoy AI and making things.
- We get to play interesting new BOARD GAMES every Enrichment lesson.
- FIRST AID – I enjoy my Enrichment because I love medical stuff and learing about medical safety.
- MINDFUL MARKS – It gives me a break from my stressful day, and helps ease me back into the school week after the weekend.
- POP, PSYCHOLOGY AND CULTURE – I think its really interesting to talk about seemingly non-important topics, but they are actually affecting us daily. We talk about things such as how dopamine affects our lives in relation to social media and also the ‘memefication’ of serious things which effectivley desensitises the masses making us more susceptible to propaganda. Speaking about such eye-opening topics has made me feel like I was, and am expanding my critical thinking skills, because I can see what we talk about around me and apply my knowledge in real time.
- Nothing’s pressured upon or expected of you. It’s a time dedicated to unleashing your creativity and just relaxing in a mid-schoolday break. We get access to artistic materials (paper, stickers etc) that we don’t normally get access to at home. I’ve always wanted to do CARD-MAKING but never had any free time, but having it as an Enrichment has helped me to set aside that time. I’ve also learned some new techniques to use in the future.
