At Cannons Creek, serving the community is of utmost importance to us. In 2025, our High School Outreach projects undertaken by the Interact Society expanded through new initiatives in partnership with internal and external groups. We introduced an expectation of at least 10 hours Community Service per Grade 7-11 pupil, and we are excited to see this begin to bear fruit.
In Terms 3&4 of 2025, 586 hours of Community Service were logged, with the Grade 11 group taking the lead with 173 hours. Alongside the various Interact initiatives, pupils participated in a wide range of charitable activities, with the most common group acitivities being the hotdog-making with Young Hearts Big Dreams and assistance with the Samaritan’s Feet Walk. Beyond organised charities, pupils also gave back to the community by volunteering as Youth Leaders at Pinelands Baptist Church and assistied with Water Tables for the Cape Town Cycle Tour and Pinelands Athletic Club Running Race. Pupils also gave up their time and offered their expertise through their involvement in hockey clinics, and animal welfare support at the Woof Project and KAPS.
We look forward to seeing our pupils develop further as well-rounded citizens of the world.
