At Cannons, we believe in developing and empowering our staff, and exposing them to trends and new teaching techniques – for the betterment of our staff, but also our pupils.
Five of our staff across the Primary School and High School (Mrs Oliphant absent from photo) attended the InnovateEDU 2024 Conference on 17 and 18 May. This was a STEAM-focused teacher professional development conference, held at Parklands College.
“The conference was very informative and empowering. It gave us tools and potential to enlarge our capacity as educators. I personally loved learning about how I can use AI to enhance may teaching and also make my practice a lot easier. I am excited to share what I have learnt and keep exploring how to implement. The aftermath of the conference is now for me to revisit the tools and methods that I’ve learnt from the conference and use them.” – Mr Nuves, HS Mathematics Teacher.
“InnovateEDU – Inspiring and exciting to see what the developments in technology are. Not simply that though, but how it is being applied in the Education space to improve access and personalise the experience of pupils across the board. Personally, it was encouraging to be surrounded by passionate people looking to grow themselves in order to grow others as well.” – Mrs Joubert, Head of STEAM & Tourism Teacher.
