Thursday 26 February 2026 marked a historic moment for Cannons Creek, as we played our very first Basketball match. Our inaugural match saw the U19 Basketball team take on St George’s Grammar School. What made the match even more special, was that the opposing coach was a Cannons Creek past pupil, Ben Bense (Class of 2022). The excitement in the match was as high as the hoops themselves, and our boys rose to the challenge, delivering a spirited and impressive performance. They showed determination, teamwork and skill while representing Cannons with pride. Witnessing their enthusiasm and talent on display was truly special. We are incredibly proud of how far they have come in such a short space of time and are eager to see the heights we will reach with this new and exciting sport.
Throughout the term, boys from Grade 7 to Grade 12 have trained consistently and with dedication, building the sport from the ground up. Introducing basketball to our High School has been an exciting new chapter, and the boys have embraced the opportunity wholeheartedly.
