Cannons Creek Independent High School held its annual Valedictory service on 20 October, honouring the Matric Class of 2022. This event marked the last formal school occasion for the Matrics. Mr van Haght (High School Principal) pointed out that this was the 20th Valedictory assembly, and these Matrics were the last single class to go through Cannons – the end of an era. Two special traditions were enacted where the Matrics were instructed to find their families to give them a hug and thank them; and the roll was read of all the names that started with the Class of 2022. As is tradition, Mr van Haght charged the Matrics with the responsibility to uphold the name of Cannons Creek and to never bring it into disrepute.
