Cannons Creek holds Grade 6 Leadership Workshop

Cannons Creek Independent School held a two-day Leadership Workshop last week for its Grade 6s. The workshop was designed to equip them with leadership skills, focusing on teamwork, and effective communication. The workshop aimed to prepare them for their upcoming responsibilities as monitors and leaders of their Cool2Care groups, by fostering collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership qualities.

They were exposed to a range of challenging team-building activities, with an emphasis on listening to one another. The Primary School staff contributed in their fields of expertise and gave insightful information about specific roles and responsibilities needed in each area of the school.

A highlight of the workshop was a presentation by the Matric Prefect group. They gave honest input about their journey to becoming a student leader. Their humility was inspiring as they explained their roles as servant leaders and giving back to Cannons Creek. They explained their values as a group which led to our Grade 6s discussing and deciding on their values for 2025: empathy, positivity, and courage.

They left the workshop motivated and equipped to contribute positively to their school community.
