It was fantastic to have so many of our Matric Class of 2023 join Cannons Creek on 19 January for a special assembly, and to collect their results. An incredible well done again to this group of Matriculants, whose average was 76%, with 117 distinctions achieved overall.
Hats off especially to top achiever and 2023 Dux Scholar, Thomas Kabalin who scored a full-house of distinctions (8 in total), and an average of 95,9%. He heard the news yesterday that he was awarded the UCT Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship for his studies (awarded to the top 10 UCT applicants from the Western Cape). We are so immensely proud!
Three other pupils also achieved a full-house of distinctions, and must be congratulated on this phenomenal achievement – Jenna Hendricks, Anna Kannemeyer, and Timothy Sparks.
In an address to the Matrics and their parents, Mr Morton highlighted the importance of each individual pupil reaching their full potential. He encouraged the Class of 2024 to follow the superb example set by the Class of 2023 and to aim at achieving their best possible results at the end of the year. Thank you to past staffmembers Mr Mike van Haght, Mrs Terri van Haght, Mr Hein Joubert, Mr Keith Ingram, and Mrs Andy Stuart for joining the celebrations.
